Cambodia-Philippines Strengthen Military Cooperation

Phnom Penh: In a significant move to bolster regional security and cooperation, Cambodia and the Philippines are taking steps to further enhance the collaboration between their armed forces.

During a recent meeting, Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, Commander of the Army of the Republic of the Philippines, commended the strong and fruitful relations between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Cambodia. He expressed his optimism and commitment to further strengthening and expanding this crucial partnership.

The Prime Minister of Cambodia echoed these sentiments, expressing his pleasure at the results of the ongoing cooperation. He highlighted the importance of joint training courses, which have significantly contributed to building capacity and mutual understanding, particularly in preparedness for responding to non-traditional threats.

The discussions also focused on future initiatives to enhance this cooperation. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of continuing joint training programs, human resource development, and information sharing. They emphasized the importance of collaboration in fighting technological crimes, capacity building for disaster relief operations, and providing humanitarian assistance.

Additionally, they discussed promoting unit-to-unit cooperation between the armies of both countries, aiming to strengthen their ties further in the years to come.
